Hey man I really enjoy you and your intentional transparency, â most of the timeâ⌠Ha LoL !! Your great and unique and a real maverickâŚ..
Really now âwe, all, and youâ need to really slow down, & concentrate on our own âQUALITY of our Musical Output . And thatâs allâŚ..
Seriously, Rick's position is one of those statements that can easily be proved right & wrong all at the same time. And if you donât have a strongâ¨comprehensive background & Data oriented sociology background and training, this just becomes a shoot from the hip statement. BTW, thatâ¨causes a lot of shallow monkey brained dialogue and guilt induced comparison chatter.
Rick and yourself are certainly no sociologist or not even close to a behavior analyst, who can observe and make primary distinctions of what it takes for a successful and prolific with longevity musical career. ALTHOUGH that psychologist you quoted said it âALLâ beautifully & best in my opinion.
I mean why did Rick use the clever and well written â Song For Bilbaoâ ( Written for McCoy Tyner @ a live concert) to explain youthful prolificness, instead of not point to â¨âTHE WAY UPââŚ. I mean a work of mature transformational art that proves longevity for both Pat and Lyle and actually all the musicians in the band. Lyle was a private teacher of mine and a mentor for well over a decade. In fact he showed up at my studio for a day and a half here in /Dallas during the WAY UP Tour and did a riveting Composition Masterclass on the âWay Upâ for 5.5 hours to 31 composers. . We hung on his every well chosen word.
Productivity and prolificness are huge subjects and not explained away quickly by faster firing youthful synapsesâŚ. Man I am 72 years old, working 4 to 6 nites a week and doing my best work everâŚ. This is definitely a great subject to digest and take apart. QUALITY not QUANTITY here is most important. And In every aspect of your life.
