This week marks the beginning of a bit of a new chapter for the YouTube channel. We’re so close to hitting 100k subscribers you can almost taste the toxic silver coloring in the YouTube “Play Button” one is sent for hitting this milestone.
In celebration of this arbitrary metric of attention that has become a central part of my musical career, the interview I conducted with Adam Neely at Birdland in NYC a couple of weeks ago will be the first new big video to drop at the start of the week.
Touring musician turned world renowned card mechanic and master gambling magician Jason Ladanye (Check out @cardmagicbyjason on all platforms to have your mind blown) will follow, as well as a new album before the end of the month, and a nerdy investigative video about bass strings: I’m trying them all so you don’t have to basically.
But until all that arrives, you have just a few hours left to take advantage of our “Independence Bass” sale for the 4th of July weekend here in the US. 30% off any order over $80, with free shipping on CDs, Vinyl and signed physical books. (All discounts added automatically at checkout)
And just to let you know how far things have come on the way to 100,000 subscribers since uploading that first video in 2006, here it is… 😮
I opened for Herbie Hancock’s Future-to-Future tour in Europe in 2001 with a German rapper named Chima. I was 22 and look like I dressed myself from a trash can behind an abandoned department store. Somehow all these years later, things seemed to have worked out okay. If I can do it, you definitely can.
More soon,
Janek
Man… the card guy is nuts. Whew… Bass?! Magic?! Cards?!
